11 car series came to THE END of production

It's time for another round of the RIP list, which lists models that won't be back for the 2023 model year when 2022 model year production comes to an end and 2023 models start to appear. Surprise, surprise, there are still plenty of sedans and enthusiast cars on this year's list, but there are also a few unanticipated additions. Let's begin straight away.

Acura ILX

Although the Integra, Acura's recently relaunched entry-level nameplate, will replace it, the design philosophy will endure. We're not overly surprised to see Acura's tiniest sedan retired as enthusiasts never really took to it. It remains to be determined if the Integra has the nostalgia to turn the ship.

Acura NSX

Acura NSX -the last one

More hurtful than ILX is this one. When it was brought back in 2016, the NSX symbolized the resuscitation of a previously retired nameplate, similar to the new Integra. The new vehicle abandoned its outdated mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout in favor of an all-wheel-drive system, but despite being marketed as a halo model, sales never took off. It's still a strong rival to the C8 Chevrolet Corvette, and Acura's mainstream models will benefit from the advancement of its hybrid technology.

Chevrolet Malibu

Yes, there is still a Malibu. The Malibu is still being produced and sold today, despite GM's announcement years ago that it was leaving the small car and sedan markets in favor of more profitable CUVs, SUVs, and trucks, but only for a limited time. This following one is going to be a whopper if that surprises you.

Chevrolet Spark

Chevy's tiny hatchback was one of the models slated for extinction as part of GM's big small-car massacre, but like the Malibu, it continued to play a part in the company's wider portfolio. In this instance, we're speculating that it existed so that GM and its dealers could promote a very affordable new automobile. not anymore.

Ford EcoSport

The EcoSport's price point was by far its strongest feature, just like the Chevy Spark. When it was first brought here in 2018, this crossover-hatch was already dated and out of date; in 2022, it will be a Bluetooth-enabled eggcrate on wheels. No one will overlook it (cue the hate mail).

Hyundai Veloster N

If you need something practical, Hyundai's hot hatchback is by far the best performance deal you can get for your money. The more expensive Volkswagen GTI is more luxurious and comfy, yes, but with its most recent facelift, the cabin—which had previously been a Volkswagen advantage over rival sporty compacts—went through a significant deterioration. Adieu, Veloster. At least Elantra N is available.

Infiniti Q60

Keep in mind the Q60? The Nissan 370Z, which was recently replaced by a significantly updated sports coupe, and the Q50 sedan's underpinnings are shared by Infiniti's luxury coupe. Most car buyers won't likely notice the Q60's decline because Infiniti's two- and four-door models have been in trouble for a while.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class

CLA 45s 2022

The CLA-Class, which is based on the same architecture as the A-Class, is staying put, so its departure won't cause too many repercussions. The brand's entry-level model will now be the crossover-like GLA.

Nissan Maxima

The final lap of the 4DSC ("Four Door Sports Car") has been completed, at least around the neighborhood. The Maxima's era of internal combustion is finished. We anticipate the nameplate's return on something electric given its lengthy history. Maybe now is the time for the 4D-EV-SC.

Toyota Avalon

Toyota Avalon -last model

The huge sedan built by Toyota on the Camry platform has achieved its conclusion. Variants of the new Toyota Crown, which will debut in this country as a liftback vehicle with a crossover-like design and an electrified powertrain, are anticipated to occupy this position.

Volkswagen Passat

The last PASSAT

VW launched three sedan models in 2022 and will only offer two by 2022. The venerable Passat will retire and hand over the spotlight to the more costly (but intriguing) Arteon, while the Jetta will continue to serve as the more affordable option for those seeking a larger compact or smaller midsize sedan.
