Better Ever Than Never : The 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 EV

The first full-size electric pickup truck from Ram. Based on teaser photographs and information from our sources, our artist has depicted what the new truck might look like in this illustration.

Full-size pickup trucks are very popular, and Ram's 1500 is a distinguished model. However, Ram is a little behind the curve when it comes to electric trucks. With a 2024 launch, Ram will be behind the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra EVs, and the Rivian R1T.

The new STLA Frame exclusively designed electric vehicle architecture will support the electric pickups from Ram. The Ram 1500 light-duty EV and a Ram heavy-duty EV, including a fleet model that produces energy using a fuel cell, will be supported by STLA. Additionally, Ram's Range Electric Paradigm Breaker, a range extender, may be included.

Front and rear electric motors will enable all-wheel drive. To deliver the anticipated 500 miles of range, battery packs might be as large as 200 kWh, and the 800-volt architecture will hasten quick charging. Ram is aiming for a striking, sleek, and contemporary appearance to set the EV apart from the standard truck lineup. The manufacturer claims that its class-leading towing, payload, range, and charge time will make up for its tardiness. Additionally, because it is a Ram, we anticipate a premium inside with ingenious features, large screens, and a variety of high-quality materials.

AVERAGE COST: $45,000
