Škoda VRS goes electric with 2023 Enyaq coupe

The Enyaq's new battery management software is Skoda's largest change. To make the Enyaq more manageable on a daily basis, the company has made a few further adjustments.

For instance, Skoda has installed its most recent ME3 infotainment system in the 2023 Enyaq. The manufacturer claims that this has enhanced the head-up display and sat-nav capabilities of the vehicle and made it simpler to navigate the climate control menu screen. Additionally, the vehicle now supports over-the-air upgrades, enabling customers to install upcoming software changes remotely from their homes using the internet.

Interior & Exterior overview

A three-year subscription to Remote Access is now included as standard equipment on every Skoda Enyaq (it was option on the previous model). Customers may now use a smartphone application to check the battery level in their car, schedule charging, and pre-condition the interior. There are some new option packages as well, but first, we must discuss the trim levels of the Enyaq.

The base model Skoda Enyaq iV 60 is propelled by a 177bhp motor positioned on the back axle and a 62kWh battery pack. That, according to the manufacturer, is sufficient for a 0-62 mph pace of 8.8 seconds and a top range of 246 miles. A 13.0-inch touchscreen screen, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, and 19-inch alloy wheels are all included in the standard equipment.

There is the Enyaq iV 80 above that. With a starting price of £42,435 and an upgraded 201bhp electric motor, it can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 8.7 seconds and has a maximum range of 338 miles. Chrome roof rails, capability for 135kW rapid charging, and a set of type-specific 19-inch alloy wheels are additional improvements over the standard model.

Skoda's sporty Sportline Plus specification is also available for the iV 80 model, adding 20-inch alloy wheels, a more aggressive body kit, Matrix LED headlamps, microsuede upholstery, and carbon effect trim. The starting price for this model is £48,415.

The Skoda Enyaq iV 80x Sportline Plus is the model at the top of the lineup. Although it has an electric motor on the front axle, it retains the same 82kWh battery pack as the iV 80 variant. This gives the automobile four-wheel drive and boosts its power to 261 horsepower. Its 0-62 mph time drops to 6.9 seconds as a result, and its maximum range is decreased to 318 miles. The starting price is £51,275.

The battery pack's capacity, specifications, and the speed of the charger the car is connected to all affect how long it takes to charge. However, according to Skoda, a 50kW DC rapid charger can charge the 62kWh battery pack in the lowest iV 60 model from 0% to 80% capacity in 55 minutes.

The larger 82kWh battery in the Skoda Enyaq can be charged from 0% to 80% in 1 hour and 10 minutes when using a 50kW quick charger, or in about 30 minutes when using a 135kW rapid charger.

The Enyaq promises to be useful, much like the majority of Skodas. The interior of the vehicle is filled with ingenious storage solutions, like folding tray tables for the backseat passengers and an umbrella storage cubby in the driver's door. With the back seats in place, the boot has a capacity of 585 liters, or 1,710 liters with the bench folded flat.

Along with the majority of the features included in the basic Enyaq's Plus package, you also get a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, a sporty body kit, a fixed panoramic sunroof, sports seats, and aluminum pedals. You can choose to upgrade the vehicle with the Advanced and Maxx packages if you want some extra gadgets.
