At the Paris Motor Show, the Jeep Avenger EV was unveiled. It has FWD and a 249-mile range.
Jeep's first electric production model is exclusively available in Europe.
The Jeep Avenger has already been captured in photographs, but at the Paris Motor Show, Jeep just gave us all the little details we've been waiting for. Just a reminder that the United States won't be getting this tiny electric Jeep.
A single electric motor that generates 154 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque powers the vehicle. Even while it won't be a fast EV, it will nonetheless accelerate very quickly. According to Jeep, the Avenger's 54 kWh battery pack has a 249-mile range on the WLTP cycle. It's unlikely that we'll see it in the United States, but if we did, the EPA range should be smaller. At a maximum charge rate of 100 kW, the charging speed is reasonable; according to Jeep, the Avenger can charge from 20 to 80% in 24 minutes.
The Avenger's diminutive size is an excellent place to start if you've been wondering why it won't be sold in the United States. The shortest Jeep now sold in our country is the Renegade, which is 6.3 inches shorter than this little ute. The Avenger is also now just front-drive. Jeep nonetheless touts some light off-road prowess for its small crossover despite this inherent off-road disadvantage. It is equipped with Hill Descent Control and Jeep's Selec-Terrain mode system (off-road modes include mud, sand, and snow). Respectable approach (20°), breakover (20°), and departure (32°) angles are also made possible by the small overhangs.
The exterior of the Jeep isn't very noteworthy because we've seen pictures of it for months. Jeep says that by using outside cladding, scratch-proof polymer "skid plates," and encased/protected headlights, it has paid special attention to making low-speed collisions less expensive for the Avenger.
According to Jeep, the Wrangler served as inspiration for the plain interior. A 10.25-inch touchscreen stands out among the extremely simple dash design. The seats have a massaging function and can be ordered with leather inserts. Additionally, a large sunroof and a number of driver aids like adaptive cruise control and lane centering will be offered.
The Avenger 1st Edition will be available for pre-order between now and November 30, according to Jeep. It is the fully-loaded yellow vehicle you can see in these pictures. Jeep also published images of a "Customized Avenger" driving through Paris sporting a number of upgrades, including a camouflage livery, blue highlights, and other minor interior modifications. It is easily identifiable in the exhibition thanks to its blue-accented wheels.
Pre-orders for the electric Avenger started already if you live in Europe; the vehicle will be made in Tychy, Poland.
